How to Quickly Overcome Resistance to Charging Five Figures Per Client

You see the money and prestige of selling high ticket offers, and you know deep down that this is the best thing for your business. But something stands in your way – whether that’s fear, a lack of confidence, feeling intimidated, or something else entirely.

Three Challenges That Can Affect You From Charging Five Figures per Client

Let’s explore the three main challenges I commonly see that prevent online service providers, coaches, and consultants from offering high ticket packages.

1. Your Lack of Openness

No matter how much money you make, you can always make more. And it can be much easier than you think if your mind is truly open to making it happen. So, my question is…how open is your mind to this possibility?

Are you open to receiving more income with the same effort or even with less effort? Are you open to the belief that it’s possible you can change your business model and charge these high prices (while working FEWER hours)?

It *is* possible to bring ease and simplicity into your business with the right model. But if you haven’t truly opened your mind to the possibility, you’ll never feel like it’s actually possible for you.

You might still be thinking that in order to make more money, you have to work harder (not true!)

Or maybe you’re even experiencing shame or guilt when you think of offering your high ticket packages because you feel like you’re being a bad person or leaving people behind (also not true!)

You need to ditch these limiting beliefs if you ever want to make high-ticket prices a reality in your business.

2. Your Lack of Self-Worth

Time is your most valuable asset as you build a business. Unfortunately, many entrepreneurs don’t recognize this and stay stuck in the trap of trading time for money.

And it’s one of the worst mistakes you can make.

Instead, you have to learn how you can get more profitable in your business by leveraging your time. High ticket offers allow you to stop trading your time money, even if you’re working one on one with clients.

When you resist increasing your prices, it often comes down to a lack of self-worth. Do you believe in the value of what you’re offering to your clients? Do you hold back from charging higher ticket prices because you feel like it’s not justified if you’re not working longer and harder?

Typically, I find that those with a low sense of self-worth and value that associate their time with their VALUE. But this isn’t true. Your value isn’t based on how many hours you clock. It’s based on your expertise and the results you help your clients to achieve.

You sabotage your business results because you don’t feel worthy of charging high-ticket.

3. Your Lack of Confidence

The last challenge I see with business owners is the lack of confidence they may have charging five figures per client.

If you’re having problems selling your high ticket programs because you’re not confident enough or don’t believe in them, you’re missing out on a massive opportunity and may need to re-evaluate why.

I know it can be scary to launch a high ticket offer if it’s your first time doing something like this, or if you have less than stellar results from past investments at your current price point.

The truth is there are many business owners who discount their offerings because they don’t have the confidence to charge a higher price.

And if they don’t charge enough, or at the level equivalent with the value clients are getting, several things may happen.

Let’s take a closer look!

Two Consequences of Low Pricing

There are two consequential things that can happen if you don’t overcome these three pricing challenges. If you let your fears hold you back from increasing your rates, you’re sure to experience them at some point during your business.

They are:

  • Resentment: When you’re undercharging for your services, you may have the impression your clients aren’t seeing the value you’re delivering. Pretty soon, you’ll find yourself thinking “I’m working so hard and for WHAT?!”. Resentment towards your clients is a sure sign that you’re not valuing yourself by charging high enough fees.
  • Needy Clients: If you’re not charging at the level you should be charging, what will most likely happen is you’ll attract needy clients into your business. Those clients may not be paying that much money, yet they’re SUPER demanding. It feels like they’re trying to get as much as possible from you for a little amount of money. Not fun.

I imagine most of you reading this can relate to one or both of these consequences. Resentment and needy clients are NEVER going to help you build a profitable business that brings in $10k-$50k months.

Two Ways You Can Overcome Your Resistance

Charging five figures per client won’t be easy for you if you fail to overcome the resistance you initially feel when you think about offering it.

We ALL have resistance when it comes to making big changes in our business. I still experience this at times. It’s natural for you to feel resistance when you’re moving away from your comfort zone. So to help, let’s look at two ways that can help you overcome the resistance you’re feeling.

1. Make a Decision

Everything comes down to making a decision that NOW is the time.

If you want to change a situation, you simply have to decide that you are doing whatever it takes to change.

You have to become confident in your new course of action.

It’s not enough to have one foot in and one foot out when it comes to charging high-ticket. You need to decide that you are *finally* done with undervaluing your services and ready for a simpler, more profitable business model!

2. Get Extra Support

The second way I recommend overcoming resistance is to get extra support. Overcoming resistance is not easy, and an outside perspective can help.

You may have a lot of internal resistance stemming from a variety of possible elements related to your industry, customers, products, and services, and more.
